The Innovation and Product Development group is dedicated to expanding those capabilities within existing businesses and creating new offerings through a structured, creative process.

 

The Executive Director - Innovation & Product Development (Mercy Virtual) is the senior level operational leader for Product Development within Mercy’s high-growth Virtual business and is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, training and leadership (administrative/organizational, and financial) of all departmental administration. 

 

This position is responsible for disseminating knowledge to leadership for shaping strategic and operational decisions. Key to this role is efficient and effective communication between department leaders to ensure that Mercy meets the highest standards for speed, safety, effectiveness and quality in a manner that enhances the reputation of the organization. The position leads and directs the work of others engaged in product development. S/he will conduct complex data analysis from disparate data sources to generate confidential business intelligence and must be adept at conveying complex information in ways that those who are involved in the business can clearly understand.  S/he must be able to support recommendations and engage in thoughtful discussions with internal and external leader and will have responsibility for educating the organization on performance, anticipated future trends, and impact of market/regulatory changes. 

 

This role will oversee agile, self-organizing teams of professionals to accomplish the work needed by Mercy Virtual.  An individual in this role will need to be detail-oriented, articulate, big-picture thinker, possess strong analytical skills, have significant statistical and data analytics experience, high emotional intelligence, able to work in ambiguous situations, work well in team and independent environments, adaptable, and can relate and communicate well with technical and non-technical people.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

General Responsibilities

  • Serves as the senior level operational leader of a business unit within Mercy (Mercy Virtual) and is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, training and leadership (administrative/organizational, and financial) of all departmental administration.
  • Responsible for all product development and innovation activities within the Ministry-wide assigned business unit (Mercy Virtual) including financial, strategy, prioritizing, projects, staff, and internal/external relationships.
  • Responsible for disseminating knowledge to leadership for shaping strategic and operational decisions.
  • Maintains efficient and effective communication between department leaders to ensure that Mercy meets the highest standards for speed, safety, effectiveness and quality in a manner that enhances the reputation of the organization.
  • Leads and directs the work of others to oversee the conduct of product development.
  • Conducts complex data analysis from disparate data sources to generate confidential business intelligence.
  • Conveys complex information in ways that those who are involved in the business can clearly understand.
  • Responsible for educating the organization on performance, anticipated future trends, and impact of market/regulatory changes.
  • Oversee agile, self-organizing teams of professionals to accomplish the work needed by Mercy Virtual.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field

 

Experience:

Ten (10) years of experience in health care and/or medical product market analysis.

 

Five (5) years of experience in virtual medicine, telemedicine, healthcare IT, healthcare analytics, or technology-enabled healthcare services product development.

 

Experience with product development, application development, statistics, data analytics, business intelligence, and generating unique data-driven business recommendations.
