The Senior Consultant- Applications and Operations Specialist is responsible providing leadership and support for all supply chain systems provided to ROi and its members. The underlying purpose of this position is to facilitate ROi and its members in achieving operational efficiency by leveraging available tools, monitoring to ensure tools are being used in accordance with their business purpose, working with stakeholders to ensure enterprise standards and best practices are being applied consistently, and when necessary, facilitating the creation of new tools to address opportunity. To accomplish this goal, the Senior Consultant- AOS will seek out customer feedback, assist operations in identifying potential tool gaps, define areas for improvement, implement best practices in compliance with business and data standards, and work with ROi leaders to expand the use of the ROi supply chain tool suite through education, training and continuous quality improvement. The supply chain consists of systems that support the manufacturing, contracting, ordering, distribution, conversion and consumption of Medical Surgical and Pharmaceutical products, but is also considerate of downstream systems impact. ROi’s ability to effectively manage supply chain operations is dependent on reliable and consistent best practices across the enterprise. This position will also be responsible for new technology, overall application support and a complete understanding of the integration between supply chain systems. This position will require a close working relationship with IT, Revenue Management and other strategic teams. The Senior Consultant- AOS performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsibilities:


1.Leadership- Provide leadership and strategic recommendations for all supply chain systems, which
includes:
a. Completely understanding the integration between, and downstream impact of, those systems,
b. Establishing and managing service standards and expected service levels to all customers,
c. Working with operations to ensure the application meets the business purpose,
d. Managing multiple projects and reports with various and often conflicting priorities, through
communication, progress and stakeholder/customer management,
e. Seeking out and recommending industry and organization best practices, and
f. Providing presentations and detailed explanations of application results to senior leadership

2. Application Support- Provide application and operational support for all supply chain systems, which
includes:
a. Performing day to day support of the application and continually monitoring that application to ensure
tools are being used in accordance with their business purpose,
b Recommending upgrades or new technology solutions to supply chain leadership,
c. Coordinating downtime and user notification of MMIS applications for upgrades and maintenance,
d. Monitoring data integrity based on established parameters and takes appropriate steps to achieve
exceptional data integrity, timely data input, and meet expected service levels,
e. Working directly with IT resources to resolve user calls and system issues,
f. Performing integration testing as needed on MMIS software prior to the upgrade of newer versions as
well as coordinating those findings and reporting them back to software vendor, and
g. Developing written procedures and processes for effective troubleshooting and communicates to users
as appropriate

3. Training- Provide leadership, manager, and end-user training and guidance related to the appropriate use
and established best practices, which includes:
a. Developing and maintaining training materials to support application build and standard operating
procedures,
b. Developing and maintaining up-to-date educational plan for all supported applications,
c. Identifying new features and preparing educational handouts covering new features/bug fixes and
distributes to all users,
d. Traveling to ROi member sites as needed to troubleshoot, educate, and gather information, and
e. Conducting formal classroom training as needed for users as well as informal training at customer sites.

4. Project Management- Utilize project management principles to manage multiple projects and reports with
various, and often conflicting priorities, through well executed communication, timely progress updates and
appropriate stakeholder/customer management, which includes:
a. Understanding and appropriately utilizing project management tools to coordinate effective resource
deployment, facilitate project task visibility and complete projects in a timely fashion,
b Managing customers in a professional, customer first manner applying professional issue resolution
skills and remaining ever cognizant of the voice of the customer, and
c Managing leadership and customer expectations through the establishment of regular and informative
communications to ensure project success and agreed upon outcomes.

5. Customer Service- Utilize exceptional customer service skills to seek out customer feedback to ensure
application/tools are optimally used, which includes:
a. Assisting operations in identifying potential tool gaps or areas for improvement,
b. Developing mutually agreed upon enterprise data standards and data management processes,
c. Effectively troubleshooting and following issues through to resolution with customers, vendors, IT staff
and other member staff as appropriate, and
d. Working with stakeholders to ensure enterprise standards and best practices are being applied
consistently.

6. Tool Optimization- In sync with the Vice President and leadership of the Integrated Services department,
continually seek out new or improved ways of expanding the use of currently available MMIS applications,
which includes:
a. Ensuring that the utilization of our systems and operations meet their intended business purpose,
b. Identifying and recommending upgrades or new technology solutions to solve operational needs,
c Work with technical team to develop constructive solutions by process re-design or new tool
development as needed to address opportunity.

7. E-commerce- This position supports e-commerce strategies and the applications that facilitate those
strategies including all other upstream and downstream activities, which includes:
a. Seeking out and facilitating supplier integrations to improve the quality of information available within the
e-catalog/marketplace,
b. Working with IT to optimize the flow of pricing information from multiple sources into a single source of
truth to ensure optimal price accuracy,
c Supporting and
d. Overseeing the setup and maintenance of the supplier content within the e-catalog/marketplace
systems.

8. Other Duties- This position will perform other duties as assigned by their direct leader or the Vice
President- Integrated Business Solutions, which may include, but be limited to:
a. Generating system reports as requested by management or leadership
b. Providing support and statistical information, or
c. Any other application related duty as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in business or computer technical school  degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Five years supply chain experience in an integrated health system, manufacturer or supplier environment required. Experience e-catalog, e-marketplace, or EDI technology is required.
  • Will be expected to support and / or be knowledgeable of the following MMIS Applications: • E-catalog software • Data-cleansing Software • Lawson • Contract Management software. • Cognos Business Intelligence. • Business Objects • Multiple Interfaces to different financial and clinical systems.
