Responsibilities and Qualifications



The position will support strategic initiatives for ROi and GPO members through understanding of the ROi contract portfolio offerings, data analysis, and the healthcare industry. The position is responsible for processing prospective customer and/or existing ROi member data for quality and value analysis. Additional responsibilities include customizing analyses to address complex dynamics, while accurately maximizing ROi’s value. This involves working with advanced functions in Excel, internally developed applications, and occasionally Microsoft Access. The position will collaborate with others to enhance the design of the internal tool. The position will work with all areas of ROi, as well as members and suppliers when needed, to gain a complete understanding of ROi’s reporting and analytical needs. Mentors and leads junior analysts and provides support for more complex analyses requiring more in depth product knowledge. Co-worker will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values and ROi Service Standards.




Develop complex analyses models supporting special projects while working with a team of individuals contributing to the development and/or utilization of total cost of ownership type of models.

Develop and customize complex comparative analyses to address the dynamics related to each project and report requirement; develop multiple product utilization scenarios.

Develop policies and procedures to improve the quality of data sourced for analytics.

Interact with customers, ROi executive leaders, clinical consultants, suppliers, and supply chain co-workers in analyzing data and presenting results. Utilize analyses and knowledge base to act as an advisor to both internal and external customers.

Assist in determining strategic direction for internal applications used in analytics.

Work with customers to prioritize analytics requests, estimate work efforts, and assign work to team members.

Maintain schedule of internal resource assignments and track progress against priorities as determined by the customers.

Negotiate with customer as needed to resolve resource allocation conflicts.

Measure efficiency and effectiveness of analytics processes, regularly communicating status of inputs, outputs and accuracy of the various areas supporting the process.

Instructions and self-improvement by owning and actively working a career path document and personal development plan.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field, or commensurate experience
Experience: 5+ years industry experience in clinical, analytic, or related area

  • Advanced skills in database management with business software tools including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
  • Experience in defining requirements and testing of custom developed software
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Capability of coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated superior organization skill with orientation to detail
  • Proven ability to deliver analysis that enables timely, complete, and confident decisions
  • Ability to speak and present project updates effectively before groups of co-workers
  • Proven ability to interact with customer in both written and verbal communication and presentations with diverse groups of both clinical and non-clinical personnel
  • Possess a commitment to develop and grow the overall business through personal motivation
  • Ability to assess business needs and devise and execute solutions as needed
  • Proven ability to meet aggressive timelines
  • Self-directed, able to coordinate competing priorities

Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or Healthcare Administration 
Preferred Experience: Experience in defining requirements and testing of custom developed software - GPO experience - Experience with SQL, Business Objects or other Business Intelligence platform
Preferred Certifications: PMP certification or project management experience - Lean belt certification or relevant experience
Preferred Other: High competency level in spend analytics
