Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Account Manager under the direction of the General Manager Workforce Solutions is responsible for ensuring a seamless transition of significant new GPO members to the ROi portfolio of contingent labor contracts and services. Efforts are focused on establishing solid relationships, maximizing service and quality, and integrating member goals with ROi objectives. The Account Manager will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.


GPO Implementation – Provide onsite support to seamlessly transition the member to the ROi portfolio of contracts. Develop and implement a mutually agreed upon category/contract review and supplier notification process specific to the member which may include: Prioritization of contracts, presentation of spend and savings opportunity, facilitation of product evaluations, approval process, LOC and/or GDF signatures, contract amendments and contract activation within the ROi tool.


Account Management – Responsible for developing a collaborative working relationship with all key member stakeholders to include the member’s executive team (CEO, COO, CFO, CNO). Establish schedule for routine visits to member site(s) to maintain relationship. Visits should include: New contract conversion opportunities, utilization review and/or tier audit and review of any outstanding member issues or improvement opportunities, participation in value analysis and Supply Chain team meetings, compliance review and report out of savings achieved.


Reporting: Responsible for maintaining status reports and project metrics. Track and document all contract transition activities for report out to General Manager and project participants.


Mercy Supply Chain Integration: Coordinate ROi resources to identify supply chain hardware/software requirements, to include completion of Bill of Materials, facilitating install, user training, physical inventories, set up of couriers and CSC distribution processes, Lawson set up and location/user build, installation of vendor credentialing software and post go-live support and troubleshooting.


Mercy acquisitions – Participate in the due diligence/pre-acquisition phase of Mercy acquisition projects. Tasks to include: review and analysis of legacy GPO, regional group purchasing affiliations, and local agreements. Incumbent will provide data for pro forma financial impact documents, report out to cross-functional teams, obtain usage data from customers/suppliers, coordinate initial GPO cost study efforts, map current state supply chain process flows, and gather current state documents, lists and licenses. Develop transition strategy from implementation to account oversight with the appropriate Unified Supply Chain leader.


Performs other work duties as assigned.

Education: Advanced degree or 5 years of health care supply chain experience

  • Experience:  Two or more years of healthcare sales experience.Experience with project planning and coordination, two years of progressive supply chain experience, understanding of general contracting terms and conditions and a solid knowledge of all MS Office products. Contingent labor knowledge a plus.
  • Other Skills and Knowledge: Excellent presentation skills, demonstrated ability to be collaborative and work in a team environment, strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to interpret and analyze large volumes of data, ability and willingness to travel to extended periods of time, ability to manage multiple/complex tasks simultaneously.
