Responsibilities and Qualifications

Overview:

 

Provide leadership, coordination and administration for a portfolio of medical and surgical contracts, programs and services in the Cardiology space. Negotiate and implement purchase agreements encompassing all aspects of medical and surgical group purchasing. Efforts are focused on maximizing quality and service while achieving standardization, cost control, revenue and performance improvement.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Develops, negotiates, and manages a Med/Surg portfolio of national group purchasing contracts focusing on maximizing service, quality, and revenue; minimizing cost, and integrating department goals with system objectives related to the acquisition of products and services in the Cardiology space. Coordinates the system-wide effort to identify Med/Surg contracting opportunities for cost efficiency and performance improvement. Works collaboratively with the Capital Management and/or SSU Resource Teams to execute contracts based on clinical and cost management needs. Communicates with the Contract and Revenue Management Team to coordinate the implementation of Med/Surg contracts and the management of resulting savings and revenue. Vendor Management; Conducts quarterly or semi-annual business reviews as appropriate with vendor partners on existing contracts.

 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field

Experience: Three years of materials management experience in Med/Surg contracting within the Cardiology space.

Other: -Proven contract negotiation skills -Proficiency with business software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. -Financial acumen coupled with detail orientation -Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups -Strong skills in consensus building -Excellent oral, written and presentation skills -Ability to travel up to 20% of the time
