This position provides data analytics and is responsible for investigation and resolution of data integrity issues to ensure ROi spend analytics will produce meaningful results. The position compares prospective and current member purchase order data to internal contract portfolio for price, volume or market share discounts, as well as equivalent products to compute savings opportunities. This involves working with advanced functions in Excel, internally developed applications, and occasionally Microsoft Access. Mentors junior analysts and provides support for more complex analyses requiring more in depth product knowledge. The position researches vendor websites to determine product units of measure and alternatively equivalent products and maintains database of equivalent products. The position uses healthcare industry product knowledge to categorize products according to internally defined or industry standard categories. This position involves occasional interaction with contracting managers, clinical consultants, supplier, and supply chain co-workers in analyzing data; level of knowledge will span multiple healthcare verticals and categories. Co-worker will perform duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the ROi mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Mathematically compare data sets using advanced functions in Excel, internally developed applications, and occasionally Microsoft Access.
Utilize various sources of data to provide comparative analysis of proposed pricing, terms and conditions against competitive proposals, current user pricing and contract terms, industry benchmarks, and competitive market information.
Develop moderately complex analyses models contributing to the development and/or utilization of multiple product utilization scenarios.
Work with contracting managers, clinical consultants, suppliers, and supply chain co-workers in analyzing data.
Collaborate with Information Technology to provide requirements and test enhancements of the internal tools.
Research supplier websites and other sources and use and develop healthcare industry product knowledge.
Instructions and self-improvement by owning and actively working a career path document and personal development plan.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field, or commensurate experience
Experience: 3-5 years industry experience in clinical, analytic, or related area
Other: - Advanced skills in database management with business software tools including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Capability of handling multiple projects simultaneously
- Demonstrated superior organization skill with orientation to detail
- Proven ability to deliver analysis that enables timely, complete, and confident decisions - Proven ability to meet aggressive timelines
Preferred Education: Master's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or Healthcare Administration
Preferred Certifications: Lean belt certification or relevant experience
Preferred Other: - Experience in defining requirements and testing of custom developed software
- GPO experience
- Competency level in spend analytics
- Experience in defining requirements and testing of custom developed software
- Proven ability to interact with customer in both written and verbal communication and presentations
- Experience with SQL, Business Objects or other Business Intelligence platform
