The VP Strategic Customer Relations is responsible for management and oversight of the Account Implementation, Member Analytics, Account Management, Clinical Utilization, Sales and Marketing teams. This position will be accountable for managing leaders and direct sales activities including prospecting, qualifying, developing strong relationships and closing new commercial sales opportunities. Leveraging strong industry knowledge, the VP will develop relationships within the providers C-Suite and Supply Chain Leadership to develop custom solutions that take advantage of ROi’s industry leading Supply Chain platform. The VP will have a thorough understanding of health care procurement and its supporting systems, GPO industry, and the contracts and services offered by ROi and our service partners. The VP will link necessary ROi resources and engage subject matter experts and other pertinent co-workers in the achievement of individual and organizational goals.

Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy/ROi Service Standards.

Responsibilities and Qualifications

  1. Manage functional leaders outlined above.
  2. Establishing strategies, goals and tactics to achieve the company’s overall strategic goals and sales forecasts.
  3. Establish and develop relationships with targeted hospital systems and hospitals, gaining an understanding of strategic direction, current issues, and capability gaps to align ROi with each prospects strategy. This will involve meeting sales goals through the creation and implementation of a sales strategy and plan for the acquisition of new customers; identifying and qualifying new sales opportunities; developing plans for introducing new solutions to prospective customers; making executive level sales calls; and working with other sales and operations resources to strengthen customer relations.
  4. Work collaboratively with ROis Contracting, Operations and Finance leadership to develop RFP responses. Work with ROi departments to generate compelling value propositions appropriate for the target customer.
  5. Provide and present financial value-added market pricing and analysis to prospective customer executives.
  6. Work closely with the ROi Collaborative Solutions team and subject matter expert’s in consideration of new services and solutions, providing strategic guidance and direction.
  7. Actively participate in Senior Leadership Team meetings.
  8. Collaborate with, and leverage, Mercy’s other commercial businesses to favorably position ROi and expand ROis value proposition.

 

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Degree preferred and or relevant experience 

Experience:

  • 15+ years sales, marketing or consulting experience within the health care industry. Established relationships within the provider industry is preferred.
  • 10+ years of management responsibility.

Certification/Registration:

  • Strong sales acumen with understanding of RFP processes
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, specifically C-level hospital executives
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Self-motivated problem solver; approach projects, problems and issues in a logical/systemic manner; research issues to the lowest level to secure answers and resolve issues decisively
  • Effective organization and time management skills including multi-tasking and the ability to set/adapt to changing priorities
  • Successful track record of building and growing new business and profitability, closing sales and satisfying customers
  • Strong negotiation, influencing and collaboration skills
  • Executive presence with excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking
  • Strong financial management with solid business acumen and judgment
  • Ability and desire to travel extensively to meet sales objectives
  • Skilled user of Excel, PowerPoint, Word and CRM package
