The Vice President – Mercy Virtual Innovation & Product Development is the senior level operational leader for Solution Development within Mercy’s high-growth Virtual business and is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, training and leadership (administrative/organizational, and financial) of all departmental administration.
This position is responsible for the evolution and/or creation of the care continuum services necessary to deliver transformative outcomes for the patient and supporting the care model transformation for the clinical teams that support them. This functional group will work side-by-side with operations to understand current workflow, performance metrics, and clinical outcome goals.
Within that environment, this highly functioning team will serve to continually improve quadruple aim of a) improved outcomes; b) patient experience; c) at a lower net cost; and d) improved clinician experience, all through the development of new solutions/processes made efficient and effective through the use of commercially available healthcare technologies. They will also identify gaps requiring the development of new technologies that support the MV strategies as they seek to create the national consortium of healthcare providers. The leader will be expected to influence the development roadmaps of key technology suppliers in order to prioritize capabilities important to Mercy Virtual’s Solution Roadmap.
This position and functional responsibility will also need to manage intake of new product/service requests and be able to quickly prioritize through business/clinical evaluation analysis identifying effectiveness along with alignment to strategic direction. Economic, operational, and clinical evaluation will required an understanding/evaluation of solution performance in contracts ranging from 100% FFS to 100% risk/value. Further, solutions development will need to account for operational/governance maturity across the diversity of environments/markets targeted for transformation and work with operations and implementation teams to develop strategies to facilitate the adoption of Mercy Virtual offerings.
Key to this role is the ability to understand the intersection of clinical outcomes delivery across ambulatory and acute care settings with that of people, process and technology. Every decision should be made in light of a conscientious quadruple aim outcome improvement goal that can be measured.
To deliver results within this environment, the successful candidate must be efficient and effective in communication between department leaders to ensure that Mercy Virtual meets the highest standards for speed, safety, effectiveness and quality in a manner that enhances the reputation of the organization.
The position leads and directs the work of others engaged in clinically enabled product/solution development. S/he will conduct complex data analysis from disparate data sources to generate confidential business intelligence and must be adept at conveying complex information in ways that those who are involved in the business can clearly understand. S/he must be able to support recommendations and engage in thoughtful discussions with internal and external leader and will have responsibility for educating the organization on performance, anticipated future trends, and impact of market/regulatory changes.
This role will oversee agile teams of multi-disciplined professionals to accomplish the work needed by Mercy Virtual. An individual in this role will need to be detail-oriented, able to roll their sleeves up to directly contribute, articulate, a big-picture thinker with strong analytical skills, have significant statistical and data analytics experience, high emotional intelligence, be able to work in ambiguous/ever changing situations, work well in team and independent environments, adaptable, and be able to relate and communicate well with technical and non-technical people.
