Responsibilities and Qualifications

Responsible for Quality Assurance & QC oversight of the IV Admixture / compounding processes in the Pharmaceutical production operations. The Quality Assurance Specialist-IVC is responsible for the following:

a. Ensures that proper controls are instituted and maintained during the manufacturing, processing, packaging and warehousing of compounded product.

b. Performs quality checks on incoming material.

c. Reviewing all documentation related to the Admixture / compounding process.

d. Assist and oversee the environmental testing in the production area by ensuring data relating to compounding environment is incubated and reviewed appropriately.

e. Capturing data in quality spreadsheets.

f. Assisting microbiologist with environmental plate readings.

g. Ensuring that all critical processes are followed.

h. Controlling the quarantine and release of finished goods prior to distribution.


Displays leadership traits by demonstrating accountability, initiative, accuracy and responsibility as it relates to the department and customers served. Advises QRA and Pharmacy management regarding any non-compliance, trending, recommendations and any other information related to the job function.

  • Bachelors degree in a scientific discipline preferred with 1-3 years of relevant Quality Assurance experience in pharmaceutical/IV Compounding/micro or food manufacturing.
  • Experience in aseptic technique/microbiology and statistical sampling (ANSI Z1.4 Sampling Plan).
