Responsibilities and Qualifications

Oversees a variety of logistics functions which include dispatching over the road carrier operations in multiple states to assure timely, cost efficient transportation of incoming and outgoing freight shipment. Plans and assures adequate equipment for delivery of goods. Responsible for scheduling, routing, DOT regulations, and customer service related to shipping and transportation. The established guidelines, and goals and philosophy of the Mercy Health, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics and the Employee Code of Conduct. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. The philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics, the Employee Code of Conduct, goes beyond expectations to satisfy the needs of our customers. Provides relief for driver coverage as needed, guidance/training to new associates; acts in the capacity of a Safety Lead, providing direction to staff in support of and in absence of the Department Manager or Supervisor. Performance consistent with guidelines established by the Director of Transportation and the Transportation Management.




Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent GED.
  • Maintain a current Medical Examiner Certificate in order to operate a vehicle.
  • Three to five years of Freight Management experience.
