Responsibilities and Qualifications

The Operations Specialist will assist with the re-profiling of items in Logistics1 and re-slotting items to new locations to improve the efficiency of the operations. The efficiency includes number of daily replenishments required to complete in addition to location of new items. Runs reports and analyzes the options available to enhance the processes and make improvements. Reports findings and recommends solutions to facilitate the receiving and warehousing functions. Significant utilization of computers will apply. Performance consistent with guidelines established by the Director of Operations and Supervisor – Inbound Operations will be essential. Adherence to the goals and philosophy of the company, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics and The Employee Code of Conduct is required.

 

Processes and presents items to ensure items are selectable in the proper unit of measure and that the items are able to be scanned and that the selector can easily identify the items and the correct UOM. Moves items as needed to maximize the efficiency.

Reports the details when policies are not being followed, and recommends proper procedures that apply to the various tasks required to effectively operate the Logistics 1 distribution operation.

Runs reports on issue detail and activity for the items stored in Logistics1. Designs and modifies the operational dashboard reports (Excel based).

 

Organizes delivery of all shipments that enter Logistics 1 so stock will meet the maximum ordering process efficiency standards.

 

As needed, checks tracking, pulls orders and fills in where needed making sure the replenishments are completed on a daily basis.

Maintains a clean working environment, keeping trash off the floor and racks cleaned and follows GMP's throughout the facility.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma 
Experience: Experience with computer based systems, Three years experience in a similar position. 

Other: 

1. Demonstrated mathematical ability to count accurately and follow written and oral instructions.

2. Intermediate skills associated with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

3. Ability to operate forklift, order picker, turret trucks, and “rider” pallet jacks.

4. Ability to reach and lift supplies and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds.

5. Ability to work long hours in a warehouse preparing and loading freight.

6. Must be able to manage multiple, complex instructions simultaneously. 

Preferred Other: 

1. Knowledge with operational metrics development.

2. Knowledge and experience with Batch Picking processes.

3. Knowledge and experience as a Product Selection/Receiving Coordinator.

4. Knowledge and understanding of placing items for selection of items in sequence that best fills the needs of the selector.
