    Responsibilities and Qualifications


    Provide leadership, project management and expertise for a portfolio of Group Purchasing Agreements focused in the Medical Products and Devices areas to include supplies, equipment or services purchased by ROi Members in support of patient care. Efforts are focused on maximizing quality and service while achieving standardization, maximizing value and performance improvement.



    Develops, negotiates, and manages a Medical Products and Devices contract portfolio of national group purchasing contracts focusing on maximizing service and quality, minimizing cost, and integrating department goals with system objectives related to the acquisition of products and services. End to end project management, including: defining category strategy, engaging with ROi Members, interpreting data, understanding category market, sourcing, negotiations, and implementation.


    Optimize current contracts within the portfolio by driving savings for ROi Members and actively seek new opportunities for contract coverage by using available data and collaborating with ROi Members.


    Works collaboratively with the key stakeholders and other corporate departments to execute contracts based on clinical, financial and operational management needs.


    Conducts quarterly or semi-annual business reviews as appropriate with vendor partners on existing contracts.



    Because you’re committed to excellence, you understand the importance of being properly prepared for your role at Mercy. That’s why you’ll bring to your role the right set of qualifications:


    Education: Bachelor’s Degree in business or related field.

    Experience: Minimum four years of contract development/management experience with a strong emphasis in the Medical Products and Devices space.


    Other Skills and Knowledge:

    • Proven contract negotiation skills
    • Proficiency with business software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Financial acumen coupled with detail orientation
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
    • Strong skills in consensus building - Excellent oral, written and presentation skills
    • Prior experience in healthcare environment
    • Experience presenting to customer and C suite level professionals
    • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time 

    Preferred Education - Master's degree or commensurate experience.  5 to 7 years relevant experience in a product management, business development, contract management, or clinical role.
